Informal and non-obligatory get-together in the Garden Lounge at 19:00. Drinks and snacks are not covered by the organizers of the Summer School.

Official opening of JoSSIS 2022 will take place at 11:00 at Aula Magna, University of Zadar. Registration opens at 10:30.

After the opening ceremony JoSSIS participants will have an opportunity to learn more about Zadar, Croatia, etc. We will gather in front of the Rectorate building before heading out on guided walking tours with a professional guide to get the best and unique insight in the rich history of Zadar and its region.

Welcome buffet organized by the University of Zadar will take place in the Student restaurant Barbakan, close to the Rectorate building, University of Zadar.

The Zadar archipelago is famous for its beauty and is definitely worth visiting. We will take a ferry to the Island Ugljan to visit the St. Michael’s fortress and its magnificient view over Zadar archipelago and Kornati National Park. Along the 45 minutes walk, you will enjoy superb views across the rest of the island.

Don’t forget to bring equipment for swimming in the sea.

The event includes minor costs (ferry ticket, lunch/dinner) that are the responsibility of the participants.

Participate in this fantastic wine tasting at the Wine Garden in Zadar. For 20 Euros or 150 Kuna, you may have three glasses of local wine, a shot of cherry liqueur, and some local cheese or prosciutto. Following the symphony of tastes, we will make our way to the neighboring Cedulin Palace in order to take in a jazz concert given by the Borna Pehar Trio. The concert starts at 21:00 and does not require a ticket to enter.

For those who will stay a few days longer in Zadar we will organize a Paklenica hiking tour.
